Fairchild Air Force Base - Jul 2017
SkyFest 2017:
a community united for 75 years
Celebrating the Diamond Anniversary of
Fairchild Air Force Base
Fairchild AFB has been integral to the identity of Spokane, WA for over 75 years. It served as a repair and supply depot during World War II, a Strategic Air Command bomber, tanker and ICBM wing during the Cold War, and finally as the largest Air Mobility Command air refueling wing supporting contingency operations around the world.
Located just 12 miles from city center, Fairchild Air Force Base and the greater Spokane community have always shared a strong, mutual bond. Throughout the years, the region and Fairchild have experienced times of great success and big challenges, but have always chosen to face them as one community.
